Street Love is in the air.

While on walkabout in Rome in September, it seemed as if love was in the air, as everywhere I turned, there seemed to be lovers on public display.
Dean Martin once said of Napoli, but I think it also applies to Roma .......

When boy meets girl
Here's what they say

When the moon hits your eye
LIke a big pizza pie, that's amore

They were in a very public space, a tourist hot spot, surrounded by hundreds of people, most with cameras. I was there for about 1 hour taking photographs and it didn’t seem to bother them. I even have a photograph where she in looking in my direction with a huge smile.

I agree. Although privacy is a big issue in Italy this should be no problem. Interesting photo. Especially because it leaves a lot of room for fantasy to the viewer about how this love is being build up. If you understand what I mean. (English is not my native language)

About the crop. In my eyes it would be better to cut just below the soles of the girl. Her legs upon the legs of her lover are an integral part of the scene. But it would be better if you had caught the full feet of the guy as well..... I know. Street photography is a bunch of frustration about missed chances. At least for me.

Hi Allard, I actually had a couple of other crops that I didn't post, I think they are more of what you described, but I preferred the closer crop as it focused more on the main subject

Also, I agree, it would have been better to get the young man's foot fully in frame, but I had to sieze the moment just before the kiss and so didn't have much time to get the perfect frame.

Difficult. It is after all always a matter of taste but I prefer the last one. There is also a possibility in removing some of the space above the heads. Do you know the Diagonal method? In my eyes it would makes the scene more intimate. It is a very interesting photo to make considerations about.
