Viltrox has announced a new APSC E-Mount lens: 35mm f1.7.

According to at least one Youtuber, it appears to perform better than the Sony equivalent which is a bit long in the tooth and prone to chromatic aberration.

In my own experience, I've found the Sony 35mm lens soft in many situations, and I'm willing to give this new lens a try. I wouldn't miss the OSS since my camera body has IBIS, but I am a tiny bit concerned with the lack of weather sealing and the vignetting highlighted in the video above. Amazon has it for 15% discount until the end of the year, to begin shipping out in January, so for $153 I believe I'm going to give it a go.
