HELP. Has anyone successfully installed the Peak Desi8gn Anchors on the A7IV without a metal ring?

I had to keep the original triangular rings.

Visible here

On 1st gen PD anchors the lines were thinner and I could thread them over the M3 eyelet without ring. With 2nd gen PD anchors the thread is now thicker and cannot do the same on M4 eyelet.

PD prefer you not using them without the rings and you won't get through the attachment points on the a7m4 anyway. I was initially concerned about this myself because on the a7m3 they are quite jingly, for want of a better term, but the tighter hole in the attachment point on the m4 means the triangular split rings are quite tight and don't jingle.

Don't forget, they are still runing the Anchor Update Program for those with the thinner V3 anchors. They will send replacements for your V3 anchors with V4 free of charge.
I could only find 5 x V3 anchors in my lot, they sent me 2 x 4 packs of the V4 within a few days. You don't have to send the old ones back, so if you are happy to take the risk (small risk in my opinion) you can continue to use the V3's.

I got them through the holes on my A7M3, but on the A7M4, they kicked my butt!. I have a tiny file and worked on the holes, but to no avail. I prefer no rings for attachment. I did do an online support session with Peak Design but other than the Dental Floss trick, no help. Nice people though.

I just saw this. I haven't liked the triangle rings, even with the trick they pull on the newer cameras - they bend the halves of the ring apart, so they are a bit stiff to move. I know this because i've removed the triangle rings and replaced them with the new Peak Design oval rings. The PD ovals aron't stiff, but they jangle far less, anyway,

You can get the new rings now in the kits of replacement anchors - I discovered that today by accident! The packs contain 4 anchors, 2 oval split rings, and the nifty plastic tool to make removing and installing split rings easier!
