Hi. Born in the Netherlands. Living in Piemonte/Italy. My first Sony was a DSC-R1 (2005). After the death of Minolta my first Sony DSLR was an A700. Followed by an A77. Today an A7-III and an A7R-IV. My daily Lens is a Tamron 28-75. As I believe acceptable photography is timeless I maintain a database starting from 1983. Most of the analogue film digitized. I travelled a lot. Today I'm too old. Leaving that space to other travellers. Crowding the favourite places I used to visit. I love nature. landscapes and street work. The last I found most satisfying but today I'm fearing legal issues regarding privacy items. Too bad but I have to keep that work for myself. Thank you for reading and the opportunity to be part of this community.

Hi Allard, what a great place to retire to. Do you speak Italian? I’m looking forward to seeing your images and welcome to the group.

Do you speak Italian?
Thank you for your attention. Level A1. Sufficient for some small talk. Italians love small talk. Even more with a foreigner. Most Italians speak no other language. So they are quickly impressed by my low level Italian and generous with compliments. Yes, it is good living here. Instead of the over crowded Netherlands.

Welcome to the forum Allard. Coming from a country, and city, that had a massive influx of Italians after the Second World War, I find that waving your hands around when communicating always helps!

It looks like it's inborn among Italians. It's contagious. Even when talking on the phone I'm using my hands...

Had an Italian GF that if I needed to get a word in I would just grab one of her hands, wait a moment to allow for her system to reboot and then say what I needed to say. I would then let go of her hand so she could reply. It was hilarious the first time I saw one of her friends do it This friend later told me she saw me do it and thought it was a wonderful life hack.
