Rumors Rumoured Sony 50-150mm f/2 GM - what will it cost?

So there is a (supposedly solid) rumour of a 50-150mm f/2 GM - interesting spec, but the big question would be the price. For those of us outside the USA, it will probably be expensive. Inside the USA, “ouch!”. Although it may be made in Japan (high end GM lenses sometimes are), so tariff may only be 20-something instead of 30-something.

I bought the 28-70 f/2, and I like it very much. Not sure about this one. I think I’d have to sell one or two lenses…

I’d expect this to be rather more expensive than the 28-70.

Yeah, so substantially more than the 28-70mm f/2. That’s what I’m bracing for…

Well, it’s out. And it isn’t US$4k. No, it’s “just” US$3898 Gary pretty much nailed it!

Here in Australia, Sony’s website says A$6799. It may drop a little before it ships (has happened before), but probably not by much.

Even so, I want it. Very much.

Shame about teleconverters, but damn, it’s sharp!
