WOW APSC users are going to love this!
Sigma has announced an all-in-one superzoom for the APSC E-mount: 16-300mm, a huge range. That is slightly better than Tamron's 18-300, and like the Tamron's VC, the Sigma also has Optical Stability (OS) built into the lens.

Cons:
  • Variable aperture means people will probably complain it doesn't do well in low light, but its just how physics works: a compromise must be made if you want small and light construction.
  • Take the "macro" claims with a grain of salt though, its a 1:2 @ 70mm, which is "close-up" but technically not "Macro" capability.
Still, not bad for $700 USD. Coming in April.

I'm surprised Sony Alpha Rumor missed this one. Maybe he doesn't have sources at Sigma, or maybe he just doesn't care about APSC as much?
