interesting! i liked the adapted version, except that the focusing was glacially slow (but this seems to have been in part because of the MC-11 adapter)

it does have big shoes to fill compared to the 90mm sony, though - it will be interesting to see how it is reviewed.

The original on Nikon was epically sharp, so this is interesting. It's not much cheaper than the Sony though, and twice the price of their old model. I looked at the sample images on DP Review, but they look like they were taken by someone with little Macro experience! Lets see how the reviews are.

Their 70mm Macro is very nice, but you are spot on about the focussing, I think it would struggle to keep up with a snail!

The DPReview sample galleries probably don't help with selling lenses that's for sure, although occasionally someone makes an effort. The price is certainly very attractive and in the current climate I wouldn't be surprised if they shift a few of these even without stabilization. The Sony 90mm macro was sold out in most places throughout the lockdown.

Yeah I'm sure they will. The ART series have some followers. I cant see the lack of stabilisation being an issue. Most Macro is tripod mounted (well it is for me). I actually think it's biggest limitation is the f22 aperture.

Why is there no e mount t/c 1.4 and 2.0 x for the sigma lens l mount gets it but not e-mount anyway nice lens £150 cheaper than the sony it will be around £500 on certain websites i am sure , ois is not end of the world ,it looks to be optically very good and sharp 105 is better than 90mm for some macro ,but with a t/c would of been very useful

Nice review here still the sony is better option for some ,mainly focus control and optical stabilising ,but wow art lenses are hitting out the ball park again can not wait for the 70-200mm art lens was hoping it would of been released with the macro.
