Very nice, crisp shot.
Thanks! I find crescents and half moons are easier to get good results with compared to full moon because the craters give me something to focus on (pun intended).
 
Yes, you get some shadows along that edge which makes it a bit more interesting. Were you hand holding this or on a tripod?

Tripod this time. Even with vibration compensation, this lens and subject are better taken with tripod
