Full-Frame Sony FE 400-800mm F6.3-8 G OSS Image Thread

Great shots guys, thanks for sharing them. I spotted the 400-800 in stock over here on the weekend and couldn't resist adding it to my basket. My 200-600 doesn't really see any use since I picked up the Sigma 500 but I have been craving a little extra reach for small birds. I guess I'll just have to get used to the additional weight over my Sigma.

I traded in my 200-600 for the 400-800, and have not regretted doing so. I just got the shipping notice on the Leofoto foot for the 400-800.

I would like the Sigma 500, but Sony has lured me with their latest temptation.

Remember when Sony might have one interesting lens in a year? They are speeding up!

I completely forgot how pathetic Sony's lens feet are. So I've just ordered the Leofoto SF-04 as well! As I was typing this my 400-800 arrived :) No time to play with it today or tomorrow though, hopefully Friday although the weather is not looking great..

I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

It is a delight, especially when photographing small birds.

Not a bird I recall seeing before, but I believe it's a Masked Lapwing, which is apparently common.

This is a 2000 x 1700 crop from the frame.

Shot at 800mm, f/8, 1/2000. ISO 4000

Thanks, I cannot wait to pair this lens with the Sony A1 ii. If Sony ever chooses to release it!
One advantage of living in the UK, we can take advantage of grey imports, I ordered the Mkii from Panamoz and received it in 4 days and saved nearly £1,000!
