Birds Superb Fairywrens

These are a couple of Superb Fairywrens I managed to capture (very difficult as they just don't stay still) late in the afternoon, catching insects in the grass. They were right near the spot where I took the egret photos I posted earlier.

This is a female.

This is either an immature male or one that has lost his breeding plumage. I'll have to go back to this spot in a few months to catch him in all his glory.

When they are in their breading plumage their whole throat, head and back is blue and black.
