Tag Rugby on Blackheath

Tag Rugby is really catching on in the UK. Blackheath is a regular fixture for the sport. Happened to come across this particular game on Saturday afternoon.

The pink player is trying to tag the aqua player.

Gotcha! The aqua player is tagged. So play stops and the tagged player must roll the ball backwards between their feet to restart the game.

Here we go again, the pink player is again trying to tag the aqua player.

But not this time sunshine, the pink player misses the tag and the aqua player goes onto to score a try (2 points for women, 1 point for men).

I played rugby for my school and the firm team back in the eighties. It was a bit different to this!

Touch rugby was a huge sport in Sydney. Not sure if it still is but I guess it is. It was quite a big sport when I was in the army back in the early’80’s too.
