Tamron has announced a new 20-40mm F2.8 Di II VXD zoom lens for full-frame Sony E-mount shooters.

The Tamron 20-40mm F2.8 Di III VXD is already available to pre-order for $699.00 in the US, £879.00 in the UK and €999.00 in Europe. First shipments are expected to start on October 27, 2022 all being well.

I like the sounds of this although no purchase will be had due to my current collection. Would be a killer street lens. Far more usable than the 11mm range of their 17-28mm current wide angle zoom.

Nice to see the body shape change. Tamron Di III are getting away from the no frills look it seems. That's good because my 28-200mm Tamron is the only lens I use a lens hood on, because it looks like absolute crap otherwise.

This is tempting...
