Tamron 70-180mm F/2.8 Di III VC VXD G2 Launch & Preorder Start

Tamron had already announced the development of their second-generation Tamron 70-180mm F/2.8 Di III VC VXD G2 lens but now new details have been revealed including the release date and price.

The Tamron 70-180mm f/2.8 Di III VXD G2 (Model A065) will land in stores on October 12, 2023 for $1,299.00 which is a $100 increase over the original version’s MSRP.

Preorders are already open at B&H Photo (affiliate link) and other resellers.

This is an interesting lens now they've added stabilization. It was one of the things that put me off of the first gen, as well as the fact that it extends, albeit a small amount.
I have no question it will be fast focussing and sharp though.
I may well end up with one

I wish there was an APSC version of this lens. Tamron's 17-70 f2.8 for APSC is great. I bet this will sell well, undercutting Sony's 70-200 for those with shallower pockets.
