  1. Yes

That's interesting they are making that, they already have the 70-180 f2.8, I'm surprised they wouldn't be focusing on a different focal range (like 150-600)

Well the patent for the 200-800mm f6.3 seems more exciting to me
I'd even take a 400-800 f6.3 is it's smaller and lighter

I wouldn't see it selling many copies, unless it was silly cheap, that range has been covered already.

A tad slow and short but will see, if priced accordingly I may grab one

I am very happy with the 70-180 and might buy the 100-300 if it is light weighted and has good reviews. Size and weight is very important for me.

Interesting! Tamron makes some good stuff. When I was a FF shooter I had the Tamron 17-28mm f2.8 and the 28-75mm f2.8. The close focusing was awesome, well built, quick auto focus, lightweight compared to Sony alternatives, and nice images out of them. I left FF before the 70-180mm came out so I can't speak to this. I have the Sony 70-350mm f4.5-6.3 G oss for the APS-C, and have used the Sony 70-300mm when I was doing FF, nice lens, lightweight, but not enough reach for most wildlife, bird shooting (and you can't put a tc on it).

Newbie here. What is a tc?

Sorry, that would be a teleconverter. I had the Sony 1.4x teleconverter, which would take a lens like the 100-400 and make it a 140-560mm. Unfortunately they don't work on the aps-c lenses.
