I wonder how Sony's F1.8-FE-lenses (35mm, 55mm, 85mm - all three lenses are labeled as DMR - Dust Moist Resistant) can be resistant against moisture and dust, when there is no gasket at the lens mount. The lenses have sealing but not at the lens mount.

SONY's scheme on their website - sealing of the 35mm F1.8 lens (SEL35F18F)

I would feel a bit uncomfortable using these lenses when its raining (contrary to the better sealing of the G- and GM-lenses). What do you think about it?

I personally have the 85mm F/1.8. I also have the 20mm f/1.8. Would the 20mm lens also have the same lack of sealing?

The 20mm F1.8 is a G-Lens and is fully sealed including a gasket at the lensmount. I have it as well.

I know I'm a Big Wimp with this, but I'm not keen on taking my camera out in the rain at all.

I have the FE 85/1.8. I didn't think it claimed any weather resistance!

I feel the same way about ALL my lenses, even though all my Sony and Tamron lenses have the lens-mount gasket.

I don't mind shooting in rain, as long it's not raining cats and dogs. So, the weather sealing of cam and lenses is essential in this case.
