The Sony 70-200mm Macro is working out nicely for me in many more situations that I had anticipated when buying that lens.

What WOULD be really, really nice would be a Sony 200mm f/2 prime. I'd go for that in a heartbeat!

I owned the Canon L version for a few years, and enjoyed it when I had the chance to use it, but it was a heavy beast (2.5kg, and I was using it on a 1D mark 4, which was another 1.5kg). I'm sure Sony could make one that was noticeably lighter than than (after all, they cut the weight of a 300/2.8 from 2.9kg to under 1.5).

So what's on everyone's wish list this year? Maybe something that's on the shelves already that you are saving for, or perhaps something that has not yet been announced? And if money was no object what would you purchase?

Thankfully my GAS is pretty well controlled right now. The Sigma 18-50mm F2.8 DC DN has been on my list for a while so I think I'll probably pick this up at some point to pair with my A6700. Otherwise I'm not really tempted by any other lenses or new cameras.

However, if our mortgage was paid off and money was no object, then I'd probably pick up all of the big Sony primes along with the A9III and A1II. It's nice to dream!

great minds and all that i am thinking of getting a sigma 24mm-70mm mk2 f2.8 had aplay at the camera show in london and really felt much better than my tamron 28-75mm f2.8 ,not sure if optically much between them but better auto focus and the extra 4mm is much wanted ,sigma smashed it last year easily my favourite 3rd party manufacturer and better some of the priority brands lenses at half the price .oh yeah big primes would be wonderful not sure the 400mm f2.8 second hand is beyond reach.Especially if they make a mk2
