Common Tern. Tricky to get good exposure to show the eye thanks to the dark head feathers and Pure white body. Awkward buggers :D The last shot is the best.

Well I really suck at BIF shots, but I still keep at it. I keep thinking I'll get better....maybe! This is one shot out of 50 or so that was the best of a female Purple Martin flying low. Just one frame in OK focus. :)

This is the Australian White Ibis (apparently also called Sacred Ibis, although the real Sacred Ibis is an African species). Here in Australia these birds have garnered with unattractive soubriquet of "bin chicken" (they do rummage through bins a lot...)

Nice shots. A very widespread species indeed, We are lucky enough to have good hunting grounds near us.

Poke!
I sat in my yard for a 2 hrs this morning enjoying the cooler temps and this is what I got.

Swallow-Tailed Kites have returned to our area. Last year they were here for about five weeks. I saw at least 10 today as well as a couple of Mississippi Kites. It's facinating to watch them grab an insect and eat while soaring around.

I am finally seeing Ruby-Throated Hummingbirds at my feeders and was able to get a few shots. I was really happy to be able to get pretty good shots even at ISO 12800 on many of the shots. I used DxO PureRAW 4 to denoise before editting in Lightroom.

Well done on this lot of shot of a little bird I am more than likely never to see with my own eye. So what better place to see them in great close up action shots. Well done.
