The photographer was about 200 metres away. The white boat in the background is about 3 kilometres behind him.

Photographer having fun, but not as much as the kids. Which do you all prefer? I like the B+W one with the main subject in colour, it makes the main subject (i.e., kite, string and kid with the kite) stand out much more.

A long time ago (10+ years) someone told me that you are allowed to make just one "selective colour" image in your life, otherwise it becomes an annoying habit. I think you have chosen well for yours, because the rest of the image is fairly monochrome, anyway, so you are just emphasising what is already there :)

Just a few seconds before this photo, this lovely old lady was sitting on a wheelchair. But then she saw the cherry blossoms in the Jardin Public (public garden) of Bordeaux and quickly she grabbed her camera and stood up to shoot them, gracefully moving like she was a teenager again.

That vision of her defying her age and mobility thanks to her hobby was really moving and inspiring for me. That's why I wanted to shot her while at work.

Your observations are correct, some where taken in Valletta.

Not in order but also England, Hampshire - Croatia, Split, Zadar and Dubrovnik - Italy, Valentino Rossi’s hometown Tavullia and San Marino.

I was curious about the lens so I grabbed this shot. It was windy, damp, and chilly. The background was a solid wall of cloud over the sea.
No edits, no cropping, straight out of the camera.

This could almost be an ad for the Canon 100-400, but the lens foot looks to be attached to the strap with zip ties.

Yesterday, an older couple approached me and asked if I had seen this bird in the area. They were both sporting Alpha 1s with long telephoto lenses. I had not, but I don't usually focus on small birds.

I wouldn't usually crop this much, but I wanted to compare to Topaz Ai 2.0 (Black Friday sale), and from the demo, even upscaled, I could barely see a difference on this well-exposed shot.

Not here in South Florida, they "break character" very often. He could have also been a guest in costume, which is also very popular here.
