Thoughts/issues on firmware update (12/23) for Sony 200-600mm

Hi folks. Getting ready for the new A1 II and was wondering if I need the latest firmware update (12/23 for the 120fps on A9III) to use with the new A1 II. There are some stability improvements, etc. and was curious if anyone has had any issues with the firmware update? Sony and firmware are like oil and water, so would like to know if it's worth it. Don't want to brick the new camera for lens. Has AF and IS improved a bit?

You don't need to install it for the A1 II, because the lens could already handle the A1, but I've seen no suggestion of issues with it. I installed it after getting my A9III and there were no problems with the install using a Windows machine (I keep an old Windows machine around for firmware updates that require a cable connection).

I've also had it installed and from what I could tell no issues. I would suspect that if there were issues with the update that they would have appeared sometime over the last year it has been out.
