If anyone uses On1 & Sony any help would be appreciated please.
I have been using On1 for a while and like it a lot but since selling my Nikon Z8 kit and moving to Sony A6700 If ind some things confusing.
Normally I shoot RAW but my query is about Sony Creative menu.

On1 imports a limited Sony set of presets into the Tone Edit model, my camera does not have a landscape creative which would be there from other cameras to compare with On1s own presets.
The ones which are imported are only Neutral Portrait Standard and one Vivid.
Comparing these with the On1 equivalents shows On1 base histogram very similar ie as far as shadows and highlight clipping goes but in each case On1 version is obviously more saturated ie deeper and brighter tones.

So which is the most accurate, I believe the camera should be?

Thanks for looking.

I use the same camera and the same program, but I often have more questions than answers. I have not been using that feature at all. So I guess, by default, I've been using "ON1 Standard". The only time that has failed me, is on a recent experiment where I took pics at a nighttime event where there were lots of lasers and neon lights in a garden and the "ON1 Standard" was so over saturated and blown out, that I often had to switch to "Camera Standard" or "Camera Neutral" as a better starting point for editing RAWs... and even then I think the JPGs straight out of camera somehow turned out better than my RAW editing efforts.

I'll edit my post to share the link of those photos:

How about you post up some examples?

Many thanks for reply, love your photographs, I doubt you would find a more complex light scenario and all people shots are well exposed.
I haven't used the Sony much, still setting it up having sold My Z8 will post a pic when possible.

What you say bears up with my initial findings, On1 shots are oversaturated at least compared with the Sony ones.
In On1 2025 - Tone and Color menu there are five On1 Camera Presets (5 as in LR too I think) and four Camera Presets ie no Sony Landscape.
If you hover over the to neutral presets (for convenience they are next to each other vertically) I hope you will see what I do, the On1 is obviously more saturated. The same applies for alll the presets.
It is the same for srgb or adobe set in camera and I am looking at Sony RAW untouched out of camera.
I spoke to a nice person at On1 who suggested that the imported profile was possibly more accurate. I just wanted to know which to use of the two.
Possibly now matter as long as I am consistent. (There were long threads elsewhere about what LR does to RAW files)

I'm still on version 2024. Is it worth it to upgrade?
I'm curious about those profiles now, I would be really curious to see if there are others available for download. By the way, version 2024 has the same profiles you mentioned.

As in?

Are you talking about Profiles or Presets? I don't use On 1 but is it possible to load your own Profiles? You might want to try a Linear Profile for your camera. I'm sure there would be one available somewhere.
